Acknowledgement

For the annual sacrifice, we interview potential subjects. They are perplexed with the first
question: when did they decide to audition as a virgin? There is no good answer, but it shows
who is in charge. Once they are out of their rehearsed personalities, we ask them why we select
only females. Most do not cite the mathematics. They suspect females are more valuable and
thus more appreciated as sacrifice. That one man can father a nation, but is limited by the
number of women he encounters, is easily understood, but seldom incorporated into civic
equations. We explain the secret.
